Western Maryland Scenic Railroad 1309 is a preserved compound articulated H-6 class 2-6-6-2 \"Mallet\" steam locomotive. It was the very last steam locomotive for domestic service built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in November 1949 and originally operated by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway where it pulled coal trains until its retirement in 1956.
